Having pimples can really be embarrassing, especially since most of then occur on the face – the most prominent part of the whole body. There are two ways you can do away with them – by using medication or by using home remedies for pimples. Since medication can be harsh, remedies that you can make at home should be your first line of defense.
Tea Tree Oil
This is one of the best home remedies for pimples that you can use. You can purchase a specially made tea tree oil pimple product or you can simply put the oil directly on the flare-up. This works best on skin that is freshly washed. Try applying it before bed after you wash your face.
Eat a Healthy Diet
Perhaps one of the easiest things you can do to help get rid of your pimples is to make sure you eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Granted, it is true that a poor diet can’t necessarily cause pimples. However, it is true that providing your body with the right nutrients will help your skin heal faster. In other words, it couldn’t hurt.
Try Yogurt
Yogurt is also another pimple remedy you can try. Just wash your face as usual and then spread the yogurt on your acne. Let it dry then rinse it off. Moisturize as usual. To give the yogurt an extra boost you can also put a drop of tea tree oil on it.
Apple Cider Vinegar Remedy
Apple cider vinegar is one of those common household ingredients that are good for a variety of purposes. Acne is one of those purposes. To make the most of this remedy, wash your face as usual. Wet a cotton ball with water and add a drop or two of apple cider vinegar. Spread all over your pimples and then moisturize as usual.
Strawberry Mask
Strawberries are rich in naturally occurring salicylic acid, which is present in a lot of acne medications and preparations. However, strawberries are also rich in vitamins, which can also benefit the skin. In order to use this remedy, wash your skin as usual. If you like, you can follow it up with the apple cider vinegar remedy. Mash two strawberries with a fork and add a little water or yogurt. Spread on the face. Lie down and let the mask sit for ten minutes before rinsing.
When to See a Dermatologist
At some point, you may need to seek extra help when dealing with your acne. If it starts getting worse or simply doesn’t heal using these remedies, you should see a dermatologist. Failure to do so will result in further complications and maybe even acne scars. You can also visit a dermatologist as soon as the acne appears and let them monitor you while trying the home remedies.
Pimples can be difficult to treat but home remedies can really help. Just make sure you try these with an open mind and seek help when needed.
